Anna Barbano, Ph.D. (2024)
Anna Barbano (she/her) is a postdoctoral fellow working with Dr. Yael Nillni at the National Center for PTSD. Anna's research broadly focuses on factors underlying the development of posttraumatic psychopathology, individualized PTSD treatment outcomes and risk prediction, and the intersection between PTSD etiology and female reproductive health.

Adam Mann, M.S.
Adam Mann (he/him) is a clinical psychology intern at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Adam’s research focuses on the assessment and treatment of nonsuicidal self-injury and suicide. His work particularly focuses on previously overlooked behaviors (e.g., NSSI by proxy) as well as behaviors occurring among traditionally marginalized populations (e.g., sexual and gender minority groups).

Andrew Kurtz
Andrew Kurtz (he/him/his) is currently a third-year graduate student at Florida State University. Andrew’s research seeks to inform the development of culturally sensitive interventions to improve sexual and gender minority (SGM) health by examining mechanisms that link minority stress (e.g., discrimination, emotional invalidation, internalized stigma) with suicidality and self-destructive behaviors.

Kate Sheehan
Kate Sheehan (she/her) is a third-year graduate student at the University of Toledo working towards her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Her research interests broadly explore transdiagnostic symptom presentations and comorbidity, with a focus on emotion regulation and anxiety disorders. Kate is also passionate about improving access to mental healthcare and destigmatizing mental illness.

Alexa Skolnik
Alexa Skolnik (she/her) is a third-year graduate student at the University of Toledo working towards her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Alexa’s research focuses on understanding person-specific mechanisms that drive etiology, maintenance, and treatment of traumatic stress disorders. Her goal is to leverage these mechanisms to develop and deliver personalized interventions.
